So it's been forever since I last updated. Bradley has been without a seizure for 5 months. Cross your fingers that this lasts! I am in school full time and boy it's difficult to stay up with everything. Chase will be 6 months on the 6th of Feb. OMG how time flies. I am now an independent consultant for Thirty-One Gifts. http://www.facebook.com/31giftsbyBobbi http://www.mythirtyone.com/gifts4us
I am just hanging out. We got ourselves a new couch. YAY! We are also looking for a van at a $2500 budget level. Nothing GMC! Richard refuses. LOL. But other than that we are hanging in there taking it one day at a time!

Thanksgiving
So we had dinner at my mom's house and that was awesome! My mom, dad, sister and her boyfriend, my nephew, my niece and her boyfriend, me hubs Bradley and Chase were all there. Chases first Thanksgiving. EVERYONE kept trying to get me to let him have some food. Grrr...I didn't falter! He gets formula until 6 months or he is eating more than 8oz every feeding. Also needs to be ready for food (i.e. opening mouth when presented food). I have a week and a half until winter break! I got most of the house decorated and can't wait to finish our marriage scrap book as well as Bradley and I doing his and me beginning Chase's. Depending on the photo needs...I might not be able to work on Chase's because I don't have any printed even tho we have tons of him! I got some great crafts planned and going to do fun stuff during xmas break! Janurary 3rd I go back to school for 15 credits and 5 classes...ick! But we are doing it! :D
Anyways that's an update. Talk to you soon!

OMG! Forever and a day!
So it's been forever and a day since I have updated! Chase was born on my 25th birthday- August 6th, 2010 at 10:47pm. 9lbs 7.8oz, 14.5" head, 22.25" long. Adorable! He is now just over 3 months old.
Bradley started school and now is sounding things out and beginning to read. :( It's bittersweet. They aren't supposed to grow up!
Just hanging out on a tuesday afternoon because we are all sick...except for the uber high immune-system freak of a husband I got. ;)

Crockpot Cheesecake!
Crust
- 1 cup graham cracker crumbs
- 2 T brown sugar
- 3 T melted butter
Filling
- 16 oz cream cheese, room temperature
- 3/4 cup white sugar
- 2 large eggs, room temperature
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 1 tsp good vanilla
- 1 tbsp flour
Directions.
Find a heat-resistant dish that will fit into your crockpot for the cheesecake. You are going to create a bain marie, or water bath. I used a 1.5 qt Corning Ware dish and it fit nicely into 6qt oval. I tried a round cake pan in a 4 qt round, and that fit too. But I opted for my 6qt, because I'm more comfortable with how it heats.
In a plastic zipper bag, beat the animal crackers into crumbs with a rolling pin. Put a cup of the crumbs into a medium bowl, and add melted butter and brown sugar. Stir until it's wet and crumby. Press the crumbs into the bottom of the dish you are going to use.
In a separate bowl, cream the cheese, sugar, eggs, flour, cream, and vanilla with a hand-mixer. Unless you have one of those fancy Kitchen Aids. Then use that. Pour the cheese mixture on top of the crust. Lick the bowl.
Add 1/2 to 1 cup of water to the bottom of your crockpot. Lower the dish inside, being careful to not slosh water into your cheesecake.
Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours. Check after 1 hour, just in case. The cheesecake is done when the edges are no longer shiny and have set. Touch lightly to see that you don't get a bunch of stuff on your finger---then you know it's done. My cheesecake wasn't perfectly set in the middle, but I unplugged the crock anyhow.
I cooked it for exactly 2 hours. Let the cheesecake sit in the cooling crockpot for an hour, before removing and transferring to the refrigerator. Chill in the refrigerator for about 2 hours before cutting and serving.

It's a BABY!!!
We just had our 23 week ultrasound and its gonna be a baby! We are gonna stay surprised. The baby way curled up in a lil ball and faced towards my back. The ultrasound pics: one shows a profile and the second is a face on view with an arm over the face, being able to see the nose and mouth. Very stubborn already! :D Totally excited. Next time we see the baby will be when it comes outta me.

Scary
So on saturday 3/12/10 my son had a seizure at his dads house. When I showed up to the ER he was unconscious, tubed and ventilated. I guess he stopped breathing from the anti-seizure meds they gave him. It was a very scary thing to see that happen to my own kid. I still have that picture stuck in my head. It's getting easier to deal with it. He was in the hospital til that following monday. Every test they had BUT the MRI came back good. The MRI shows a cluster of blood cells that could cause him to be at a higher risk for seizures than the normal kid. We are going back in 3-6 months for a contrast test of his brain as well as another MRI. My son is perfectly himself now. Hoping that he won't seize again. There is that chance he may NEVER have another or if he does they can't predict when. It could be tomorrow, years down the road or in adulthood. So we got some emergency meds incase he does seize again for longer than 5 minutes then we give it to him (RECTALLY) poor kid. But things are starting to seem normal again.
On a side note, we have our 2nd ultrasound the beginning of April so YAY!!! We are 20 weeks now and I'm growing like a cow.....not gaining much weight I must say! Lol. Anyways thats the big news and what happened.
I honestly think the seizure was brought on by a higher than normal temp, but no evidence to prove that.
